| Terminal information The Thomas F. Riley Terminal is divided into two terminal areas, A and B. Construction of a new Terminal C is due to be completed in 2011. |
| Terminal passenger links Terminal A and B are both within the same Thomas F. Riley building and security screened passengers can move between both terminal areas. Courtesy shuttles transport passengers to the Airport Main Street car park every 15 minutes. |
| A: The Irvine Shuttle, connecting to the Metrolink Bus routes A and B connect the airport to Tustin Metrolink Station, a station on the Metrolink Orange County Line, which includes L.A. Union Station. @ Summer 2009 bus fares are: - $1, peak hours (5:30am – 9:30am and 3:30pm – 7:30pm on Weekdays.) - 50 cents, non peak hours (9:30am – 3:30pm on Weekdays.) - free if you have a valid ticket for the Tustin Metrolink Station. @ Summer 2009 Metrolink single-ride fares cost $1.25 - must be used within 2 hours of the purchase. The metro rail system is run on the "honor system" so there are no turnstiles - you simply walk onto the train. From time to time, however, uniformed inspectors may ask you to present your ticket or day pass. Note that each metro rail ride requires a separate fare. To use a $5 day pass, you must first purchase a $2 tap card on which to load the fare. So a day pass will initially cost $7 |
| B: OCTA buses OCTA (Orange County Transportation Authority) run 2 bus services that stop at the airport: - route 76 runs between Huntington Beach and Newport Beach via the airport. - route 212 runs from the airport to San Juan Capistrano via Laguna Hills and Mission Viejo. The OCTA bus stop is located on the arrival (lower) level outside of Terminal B. @ Summer 2009 fares are: - regular, $1.50. - seniors, 60 cents. - child (6 and under), free. - one day pass, $4. - one day pass, seniors, $1.25 |
| C1: Shared Ride Vans A number of companies provide shuttle service from the airport to various destinations. Buses leave from the lower level of the ground transportation centre (GTC.) The GTC is located on the Arrival (Lower) Level in the center of the East Parking Structure and can be reached from the Thomas F. Riley Terminal by crossing the Airport roadway at the traffic light near the John Wayne Statue. @ Summer 2009 some example fares would be: - Beverley Hills, $77 (+$9 per additional passenger.) - downtown L.A., $72 (+$9 per additional passenger.) - Long Beach, $37 (+$9 per additional passenger.) - Huntington Beach, $24 (+$9 per additional passenger.) |
| C2: Disneyland Express Bus (Grayline) Goes to the Disneyland Resort first and then on to area hotels. Picks up outside of baggage claim area at the Ground Transportation Center - see C1 above for GTC location. @ Summer 2009 tickets cost: - Adult single - $15 - Children single - $12 - Adult return - $25 - Children return - $16 Note that family tickets are available online. |
| C3: Hotel Shuttles Courtesy vans are operated by select hotels in and around the airport area. If available, courtesy shuttles will pick up/drop off passengers in the ground transportation centre - see C1 above for GTC location. |
| D: Taxis Taxis are available at the Ground Transportation Center - see C1 above for GTC location. @ Summer 2009 meters charge $2.95 first 1/4 mile plus 65 cents per additional ¼ mile. Note that flat rates to destinations may be provided upon request. |
| E: Limousines Over 100 limousine companies provide service at John Wayne Airport. All limousine service must be arranged in advance. |
| F: Rental Cars The on-site rental car companies offer services at the Terminal. Their rental car counters are located on the Arrival Level (Lower) Level, between Terminals A and B, right across from the statue of John Wayne. The off-site rental car companies pick up passengers from the terminal and shuttle them to their off-site location. |
